Yesterday, while the 4 oldest kidlets were at their primary activity M.D.H. and I decided to peruse.
We perused a street --- followed it to the end and found a lovely old house with a beautiful yard. I tried to persuade M.D.H. to stop so I could tell the man working in the yard he was living in our house and he needed to move immediately. I guess that wasn't a good idea though, because M.D.H. didn't stop. He did slow a little and the man in the yard eyed us suspiciously on our second pass by.
Then we leisurely perused a quaint little bookstore while Sweet Cheeks slept in her stroller. M.D.H. found some history books to examine and I completely fell in love with this printing of 'The Wind in the Willows'. I loved the illustrations and I can see in my minds eye our kids reading or listening to and adoring these stories as much as I do. We didn't purchase it but I suspect we will soon.
We did buy this ---- A THESAURUS!
The best 6 dollars we've spent in a while.
So -- We decided to test it out and look up random words.
The first word I looked up was MICROWAVE - it said - micro-cook, nuke. You know you have a good thesaurus when it even has slang words like 'nuke' as a synonym. There's also 4 pages devoted to food and 62 different kinds of cheese listed. (It was lunch time when we bought the book.) The cheese thing is kind of a big deal because - well - cheese is a big deal around here! I guess you could say we're happy with our purchase.
AND I highly recommend PERUSING --whatever ---whenever you get the chance.
