Let me start off by saying, this beautiful girl did an amazing job at her recital!
She was graceful and such a delight to watch up on stage, quite the performer and I couldn't help but notice how tall she is getting.
She danced to 'Do-Re-Mi' from The Sound of Music.
Now the organization and running of the recital its self is a whole other story.
Yesterday, I didn't post any thoughts with these pictures because I was operating under the 'If you can't say anything nice - don't say anything at all.' mentality. So, I will attempt to not bore you by venting my frustrations with the dance studio now I will simply share some of the facts of the night and I'm sure you will understand my frustration.
- The recital was scheduled to start @ 7 pm - it started @ 7:30pm.
- 25 minutes into the recital we had seen 2 dances.
- There were 33 dances and the Finale' on the program - Banana's dance was #23 and she was in the finale'. (oi')
- The 15 min. intermission was 40 minutes.
- The recital got over @ 11:20pm. (This was a super late night for my kids who go to bed @ 8:30.)
- The recital was 4 hours long! But we had been at the theater for 5 hours!
With all that said I want to reiterate that we are so proud of our beautiful, dancer. She has grown so much this year and we love, love, loved watching our graceful young woman doing something she loves.

I loved seeing the pics off her recital. I recently had one of those "experiences" with my own daughters graduation. We watched over 450 grads come in for the opening processional, which took almost 30 minutes. I did the math for the handing out of diplomas, and it wasn't pretty. I remember thinking, as I waited for her to enter the stadium, that this was my baby and she was graduating. All those long nights that I had sat through-waiting for her to perform or accept awards-was coming to a close. I was so grateful to be there and that my parents had been there for me. I realized at that point that I was very happy to sit and watch the last culminating event of my high school senior. Thanks for sharing the pics and the story behind it. It goes by all to quickly.
We love you guys!
H you look beautiful in your dance costume. Wish we could have been there to see you dance. It was fun to see the pictures of when you were younger in your costume and then this one. I like your costume, It just fits the song. What a lovely young lady you are.
