I felt a lot of pressure while planning this shindig with my daughter!
She's new to the area.....I wanted her and her friends to have a good time but not feel like I was babying them.....I wanted her friends to think she was cool....and think she has a cool mom;).
I don't know for sure if we succeeded----BUT--- She had a great time and it seemed like the other girls did to so I think it was a success.
(Note to self - UEA weekend is not a good weekend to hold a b-day party. Only half of those invited could attend - the rest were at Disneyland or camping with their families.)
********
5:00 pm.
We started the evening with the girls making Halloween tie-dye shirts.
Then they made their own pizzas.
I stuck the pizzas in the oven around 5:30 and thought
"Shoot we're a half-hour ahead of schedule, we're going to run out of things to do."
But no worries - it all worked out just fine.

They played tag and hide-and-go-seek while they waited for their pizza.
After dinner the activity was making up a commercial.
We had a bag of costume items and a bag of silly phrases.
Each girl had to wear at least one costume item and choose two phrases and work those phrases into the commercial. when they were ready I videoed them.
They were HILARIOUS!!!!!
Before the party started we set out a bunch of snacks for the girls.
I got a little kick out of seeing the carrots between the M&M's and the marshmallows.
Needless to say. I had to fill the M&M bowl a couple of times but not the carrot bowl.
And finally..... our master piece!
HALLOWEEN TIE-DYE SHIRTS!!!!
They turned out so cute, and they were pretty easy.
I highly recommend giving them a try.
(By the way, I was able to get the shirts for 2.99 @ Hobbie Lobbie, can't beat that!)
Thanks girls for the enjoyable evening!!! Maybe we can do it again soon....or next year?
