Sunday night I said to Mr.Man, "Tomorrow's your first real day of kindergarten!"
He said, "Yeah....What!.....You mean it's fall all ready!?"
I guess we've been saying all year, "You'll go to kindergarten in the fall."
So here we are, his first day of REAL SCHOOL. Of course he loved it! He got to take his favorite stuffed animal with him and share it with his class. They read a book about how to behave in school. He drew pictures, played on the "big" structure at recess (tomorrow he's going to give the little one a try), he worked on his first "real" worksheet (matching teddy bears) and he was surprised that he gets to go back tomorrow. Then he was concerned when we told him he'd be going to school everyday. "Is there really that much I need to learn?" he asked. When I told him he'd get weekends and holidays off he was a little happier.
After the kids were in class the PTA hosted a Boo Hoo lunch for the parents of the new kindergartners. So many of the parents were a little sad. Maybe I am too, honestly, I think I'm really excited for him. He's such a busy guy I know this will be just what he needs.
Man I love my Mr.Man and I really can't believe he's this old. He is a joy and I'm so glad he's part of our family.
Good luck MR.Man we love you!
