Oh Christmas Trees

The trees are up! Lights are up and on! Decorations are up! Lets celebrate!

Unfortunately I didn't get the traditional kids in the Christmas Tree Box picture (remember this?) because the Christmas tree box is no longer. It got wet while in storage and had to be replaced by two Rubbermaid boxes. It was a sad sad day when we said good-bye to our beloved box. Do you think 5 kids could fit into two Rubbermaid boxes for a picture. Maybe we'll try it when the tree comes down.

On to happier news.

This year we have two Christmas trees! One upstairs and one down! Aunt T. and Uncle M got a new tree and donated their old one to our 'get more decorations so we can decorate our whole house for Christmas fund'. How awesome is that!? and get this, last year after Christmas MDH and I picked up some plastic ornaments that look like glass for practically nothing - perfect for a Christmas tree in the basement. Banana has always wanted a Christmas tree with rainbow lights and so MDH happily obliged for the new tree.

It's a little tree, perfect for the kids to decorate all on their own.

I just have to say THANK YOU Aunt T. and Uncle M. You're the BEST!

MDH got a little artistic with the Christmas tree photos.

Finally, our cute, new, little tree.

I just had to share this little ornament. I think this is the oldest one on our tree. It's a little worn and the glue is giving out in some spots but it still makes me smile.

My sister made it (or maybe my sister and my mom). She was my primary teacher and she made these for everyone in our class. On the other side it says, "I am a child of God." It's made from two canning lids glued together with Ric-Rac glued around the outside. I love it and every year I look forward to pulling it out of the box and putting it on the tree. I always think the kids should get as excited about it as I do, but they don't. Maybe one of these days they will. Maybe if I make one for them they'll love it as much as I love mine. Maybe I need to ask my sister to make them one? Now that's a good idea! JuLee?

I like your Christmas trees. Enjoyed your "remember this pictures." They sure have grown. It would have been fun to see them try to all fit in the box.
