Monday July 26, 2010 the 163rd anniversary of the day Brigham Young, Wilford Woodruff and 7 other men hiked to the top of this peak to view the valley
we took our little family to the top.
To see the monument.
To see the valley.
To experience the climb.
To feel the spirit of a place where a bible prophecy was fulfilled.
It was a cloudy evening but that meant we had the top to ourselves.

What a great view of the valley.
We raised our own ensign and sang High on a Mountain Top.
And Banana shared a great lesson on the history of that spot.
We didn't stay long because we wanted to make it down before the storm hit.
And we did.
The kids ran down until Mr.Man took a fall and scraped his side pretty good.
Then we moved a little slower.
This cute girl came up with a plan to keep us from getting lost.
She found a rock and carried it with her.
Every few feet she'd stop and draw a line in the dirt so we could find our way back.
Smart girl!
This was a great hike and I'd highly recommend it!
