California Trip continued....the day after Disneyland

Like I said before, the day after our D-day we had a bit of a Disneyland hangover. So we took it easy and made our way to San Diego.
We hung out in our hotel, went to breakfast, went swimming, checked out of the hotel, went to the beach (Oceanside), had a picnic, drove the rest of the way to San Diego, found our hotel, checked in  switched rooms, got cleaned up, went to dinner, came back to the hotel and went swimming and then went to bed.
That's the general overview of the day, now for a couple funny specifics.

For weeks before this trip I kept having the reoccurring dream where I was sitting on the beach in some shorts and people were screaming and running away blinded because my legs were so white.

Now for the real life version.
Not more than 60 seconds after parking the car at the beach and getting out some girls walking by exclaimed, "Whoa! Those are WHITE!"
They didn't scream and run away but they definitely did comment.

Before we got back in the car we needed to brush the sand off so we used our snow windshield scraper/brush. (See below). I'm pretty sure we're the first to ever do that...while setting on a Costco laundry detergent bucket.... Yep, we're from Utah!

We borrowed MDH's brother's GPS for this trip. We all got a kick out of it but we particularly enjoyed Sweet Cheek's interpretations of what the GPS was saying.
For example:
San Diego Avenue --- Sam Diego Dabba Doo
and she kept asked when we were going to Rose Dora because we had gone to Sam Diego......

Our hotel was in Old Town San Diego and just kitty corner to the LDS church historic site for the Mormon Battalion.

We thoroughly enjoyed walking around old town and MDH's one wish for this trip was to have some really REALLY good fish tacos, which he found in Old Town.

The day after Disneyland I took a grand total of 4 pictures, 3 of which were MDH brushing every one's feet off at the beach....How 'bout that?

Coming soon...
SEA WORLD!

WOW!! YOu guys have had some FUN! I love Disneyland and try to go often. And yes, the frozen lemonades are a MUST when at D-land! So are the cream cheese filled pretzels by the way. We have yet to take our kids to Sea World. After seeing these pictures, we NEED to go! And the battalion..how cool is that! It's also on our list of vacations now!
