This past weekend MDH and Duder were able to run in the Las Vegas Ragnar relay race.
You might remember that MDH ran in the Wasatch Back Ragnar back in June.
He had so much fun that he decided to do it again and this time our oldest boy joined him.
I think part of what makes the race fun for my guys is the team.
Their team consists of mostly family, MDH's cousins, their kids, our nephew and a friend.
I'm glad they have fun and enjoy it.
It's not something I'd like to do
But I am so proud of them for doing it.
This time the race was 193 miles and started at the top of Mount Charleston.
But I'm skipping ahead.
First they had to get there.
Which I hear was a long adventure with a stop at MDH's work for a quick second.
They left on Thursday morning and that evening they went to the Las Vegas Temple.
One of MDH's cousins had condo connections so they had a nice comfy home base with a hot tub.
Score!
Like I said the race started at the top of Mount Charleston and as you can see it was a bit cold.
I think Jared looks like he's really cold and maybe a little bit angry about it.
That's okay. We were getting snow here too.
Something to the tune of 15 inches of snow.
Thank you lake effect!
MDH was runner #1 and started the race in full winter gear.
(He didn't take a picture of himself but I'm sure he looked amazing)
He said after a couple of miles he was warm enough to pass off his coat to the support van.
This is the mountain that he ran down.
Our boy was runner #4.
by the time he got to run it was sunny and cold and windy.
They said he got to run 6 miles in a fierce head wind but that he did awesome and still came in under time.
This is our nephew Jared.
He's awesome!
So somewhere along the race a team mate threw-up a few times.
It turned out his daughter had had the stomach flu.
I really feel sorry for him having to keep running after he got sick.
But here's the kicker.
MDH and my boy got the stomach flu too.
Right after they got home.
At least they made it home.
And guess what I was doing when they came through the door @ 4 am early Sunday morning?
Taking care of our stomach flu sick girl....
Good times.
But over all they had a great time and Duder said he'd love to do it again!
I am proud of my guys!
Way to go!
and Just so you know MDH got a new phone.
So all of the pictures here are thanks to the camera on that phone.
And it turns out on this final picture he thought he was taking a picture facing the other way.
I love it!
Technology is awesome!
Oh I love technology.....but not as much as you, you see!
