Transformers

Let me just start by saying I love you mom. Now, here is a funny family moment and history repeating its self.

When I was young, and my nephews were about the age my youngest son is now, Transformers were new and a big deal. One of my nephews got some Transformers underwear. He was so proud of them he wanted to show everyone. My mom started singing the Transformers song to him.
This is how the song goes:
Transformers, robots in disguise..............................Transformers, more than meets the eye........... Mom sang it:
Transformers, more than the eye can see.
My brothers, sister and I laughed so hard. We haven't ever let her forget it. At least I haven't.

20 or so years later my son needs new underwear.
I say, "What kind of underwear do you want?"
He says, "Transformers!"
I laugh because I remember the song but I say ok.
He says, "put it on the shopping list mom." So I do.
When we finally make it to the store it's all 7 of us.
At the store I tell my husband we need to go find Transformer underwear.
He says, "OK! Underwear for everyone, it's on me!"
Our son says in a very pouty whiny voice, "Dad, NO! it's going to be on me, not you! OK?"
We all laugh and go find the underwear. Luckily, there was one package of Transformer underwear in his size. We came home and he had to put it on right away. We noticed that the underwear was glow in the dark. He was so excited he couldn't stand it. As soon as he got it on he said, "I have to go tryout my underwear in my sisters room." and off he went.
She was yelling, "Gross not in my room. No boy underwear in my room."
He says, "but it looks so good in your room."
I was no help because I just kept laughing. Now my boy is running around the house singing the transformer song (he sings the right words though) and telling everyone he can that he has on transformer underwear and asking them if they want to see. Every time he does I think of my mom... and I laugh.
Love you mom.
