it's off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday the cast came off!!!
It definitely wasn't as traumatic as last time!
I think that's because she had her big brother with her to help her be brave.
Mister Man was such a big boy and such a big help. When we went to the room where they were going to cut her cast off he told her it was going to be loud but she needed to be brave. She said, 'oh-tay' and cried a little - more like a whimper.
When it was time to have her x-rays he told her to be a big girl and hold still. She said, 'oh-tay' and she did.
Those two are quite a pair. There is no doubt and an abundance of evidence that they love each other very much.

So I tried to get some pictures of her with-out her cast. To get her to smile for the camera is impossible. This is what she does......'CHEEEEEEEEEZZZ'
So I kept trying. Still no dice.
She still uses her left arm more than her right. She was clearly a righty before she broke her arm, I think it will be interesting to see what she does over time, if she will favor one over the other or be ambidextrous.
There was rotten food stuck to her arm when the cast came off, the smell was awful. The tech laughed and handed me some wipes to clean her arm off. It really needed it. The inside crease of her elbow was raw and bloody too. The doctor said that was normal, but still, as a mother, it was very hard for me to see it on my baby.
The doctor said the x-rays look good and her arm is healing well. Now to just keep her from falling on it for the next four weeks.

I am so glad for you that it is off. Good luck on keeping her from falling for the next 4 weeks. That sounds like an EASY task!

YAY! I'm so happy for her and you! My friend broke his leg in middle school and stuck a pencil down his cast to scratch an itch and the eraser came off and got imbedded in his skin. The had to cut it out ofter he got his cast off. Yuck...
