Blending Requires Finesse

Last fall I canned a bunch of applesauce.
Because Mr.Man has food texture issues I tried to make some of it extra fine. But, the rest of us like it chunky, so I made some chunky sauce too.
We've eaten all of the extra fine sauce already---- but I wanted Mr.Man to eat the applesauce because I knew he wasn't going to eat much of the main dish (chicken taco casserole -- a recipe I made up yesterday....turned out pretty good.)
I decided to stick the applesauce in the blender to get rid of the chunks.

I guess I blended it a little too much.

It turned into baby food.

Mr. Man gobbled it up. The rest of the family gagged it down.

MDH didn't say a word and ate it with a smile at the edge of his lips. (What a good sport!)

Later when pressed by me he admitted it wasn't his favorite but was just happy to have dinner made by me so he wasn't going to complain.

I'm sure his example made all the difference in the world because the kids didn't complain either even though I could tell it was hard for them to eat it.

I love my husband!!!

Guess who'll be finishing off the jar of applesauce/baby food? You guessed it! And Mr. Man's okay with that because he loved it!

That is too funny! Last year I made applesauce with my neighbor's apples. but I had no strainer, and had to improvise a bit, which meant a lot of seeds in the applesauce. No one would eat it, but me! So I recently got a kitchenaid fruit and veggie strainer, it turned that seedy sauce into yummy perfect applesauce! I'm so excited for this canning season!
