The setting: Bedtime, the bedroom light is off, she's laying in her bed with the covers pulled up to her arms, the light filters in from the hall and somehow makes her eyes softly sparkle, the sweet smell of shampoo and soap drifts from her newly washed hair and face and tickles my nose. Her soft strong arms are wrapped around my neck while I kneel by the side of her bed and lean in to kiss her goodnight. We've just said a prayer together, read a book and sang 5 songs of her choosing, they're always the same....her "Hush Be Still", "Orangutan, Hush be still" "Rock-a-bye-baby", "I Am a Child of God", "I Know My Heavenly Father Loves Me" (both verses with the actions she's made up).
SC: Mom? When I go to live with Heavenly Father again will you be there too?
Me: I'm really going to try to be.
SC: I don't want to be there if you won't be there. I love you.
Me: I love you too. I'll be there.
SC: The thing is, I won't know how to get there if you don't show me. Will you show me how to find my way back to Heavenly Father?
Me: Yes, I'll show you and we'll go together.
SC: When will we get to go back?
Me: It'll be a long time....hopefully.
SC: When?
Me: When we're old ladies.
SC: Good! We'll go together when we're cute old ladies.
Me: Okay.
SC: Goodnight Mama, I love you!
Me; Goodnight, I love you too!
