I'm still so behind on our summer family adventures!
Monday we drove.
Tuesday we partied with the airplanes.
and
Wednesday we explored Pike's Public Market, the pier and Mukilteo beach.
Thursday we sailed to San Juan Island and spied some Orcas. (pictures to come but none of the whales :()
Friday we picnicked at Mukilteo again.
Saturday we drove.
Sunday we crashed.......figuratively......as in an exhausted way into our beds.
The following load of pictures were taken on Wednesday way back in July! Hello, July? Hard to believe but true.
I love the flowers at the market. I always wish I could buy some.....but with traveling and all it just wouldn't work.
Love the hanging pepper bouquets too.
Traditional picture of the family on the pig.
Doodle wasn't sure how he felt about the poor treatment of the squid.
He's becoming more of an ocean naturalist the more he learns about the ocean.
Which seems weird to me because if you know Doodle it would seem he already knows all there is to know about the ocean. However, he's still learning right along with the marine biologists.....
He's been fascinated with the ocean and it's creatures since he was about 14 months old.....I don't think he's going to loose interest anytime soon.
The view from the pier. Look at that sky and the beautiful Puget Sound! It's intoxicating I tell you!
It's a tradition to eat at Ivar's when we're there....most of enjoy the fish and chips....I however enjoy the clam chowder....excuse me while I wipe some drool from the corner of my mouth....just writing about the chowder will do that to me, it's that good!
Anyway,
we always save some fries for the gulls.
And if you're brave enough you can hold your hand out and the gulls will fly by and grab the fry right out of your hand.
I am not brave enough.
Most of my family is.
Sweet Cheeks wasn't sure she was brave enough either.....look at the size of that seagull! It looks like it could swallow her whole arm, and I don't even want to think about the germs and diseases lurking on that bird....shudder!
Fun piece of art on the pier.
Outside of the aquarium.
No, we didn't go in. Maybe another trip. It wasn't for lack of trying to convince by Doodle.
When squids attack or octopi...
Space needle as we drove by.
Mukilteo in the evening.
and just so you know you can get dehydrated while you're in the Seattle area (crazy I know because it's so much more humid there than here) and the dehydration headache can last for 3 days.
Just so you know.
We were so happy to be with MDH's sister, brother-in-law and family. Their hospitality was never ending.
I think I've mentioned before that our party of 7 is a force of nature.
They welcomed this force of nature cheerfully and we are so grateful!
A good pose never gets old.
I think I need to do a post with all of the pictures of her doing this pose!
What do you think?
Look at that young man! that is my boy! crazy - he's just so tall - and- old!- and handsome!
Cousins!
Aren't they beautiful!
About the time that we arrived at the beach was when my headache started settling in.
Unfortunately, all of my medicine was back at Pam's house.
By the time we were getting ready to leave I thought my head was going to explode----seriously, I thought it was a possibility and I was sure that was going to be a big mess.
Luckily it didn't
And luckily I have a wonderful husband who took care of the crew from this point until the next morning because I had to check out or risk a big mess splattered everywhere if you know what I mean.
So I know this was a lot of pictures but just you wait, there's more.
Are you doing a yipee happy dance with me in anticipation of the rest of our vacation photos?
Well, you should be.

Thank you for sharing. We haven't been there so it was like a visit for us too. SC poss is so cute, just like her. I think you should enter the picture of the seagull taking the french fry out of that G/L guys hand in a pic contest. The girl cousins look so much a like, Cute too! I could tell the boys were really enjoying everything! (Sorry you got such a bad headache) Great pictures and Post!
I love it when you post! It's so fun to see the little kids are now really big kids. We went to Seattle too this summer and loved it.
