The Mayan and a Black Eye-t'boot!

After the temple open house we headed over to THE MAYAN for dinner.
We thought the kids would get a kick out of the cliff divers.
The last time we went to The Mayan we only had 2 kiddos (ages 3 and 23months). We thought they'd think it was the neatest thing. We waited in line to be seated for over 90 minutes (forever with two toddlers) and when we finally got to eat they weren't very impressed -- kind of scared of the noise and the lights and everything.
This time was quite a bit different.
The kids thought the ambiance was cool and Mr.Man and Duder were very impressed with the cliff divers. Banana was a little bit put off by the loin cloths (w/speedo underneath) the divers had on. But she agreed the diving was cool.
The wait was only 45 minutes this time and the food was much better than 9 years ago.

So here's the black eye part.
You know how we have this daughter who is a little ball of energy and likes to climb and jump off of things, who split her lip open a few months ago, who fell and got a thorn through her arm, who broke her arm around this time last year?
While we were waiting to be seated we sat outside of the restaurant. They have these big cement snakes the kids were climbing on and running around. She tripped and smacked her head on the corner of the cement snake. The sound of skull smacking cement is the worst sound EVER! Particularly if it's your child's skull. She hit just above her left eyebrow.
It swelled immediately and it really is a miracle it didn't split open when she hit. She was a trooper though. The restaurant gave us some ice to put on it but she didn't want to have anything to do with that. They did take us on the VIP tour and show us around up by where the divers jump off and where Larry Miller's private seat was.

I'm not sure taking a child who already thinks it's cool to climb things and jump off to see cliff divers climb the "cliffs" and dive is a good idea. She LOVED it - she was fascinated to be exact! Hopefully no tub diving next bathtime.

Here's her eye today.

And, this is how she felt about having her picture taken. Not so happy! It looks much worse but I hear that's how these things go.
