Scouts, A Museum and A Tour Guide

We (the other den leader and I) took our scouts (Wolfs or is it Wolves or Wolf Den = 8yr olds) to the near-by Air Museum.
The museum is great! Lots of neat airplanes and a hands on section for the kids. They even have a helicopter (the exact one!) that my dad used to fly.
Our tour guide was a retired, civilian volunteer. He had a lot of good information to share as well as a lot of opinions to share.
Definitely more than our boys needed to hear.
He was most out spoken about gun control.
His opinion was that guns aren't the problem it's the crazy people who operate them.
The boys didn't care, they wanted to see the airplanes.
And then he used a personal experience........graphic, violent, inappropriate experience (for 8 year olds at least) to illustrate why almost anything can be deadly in the hands of someone who is not in their right mind.
OH MY!!!!!!!
Thankfully, I think most of the boys had tuned him out at that point.
And, that was when I told him (tour guide) we needed to be going soon and our tour needed to conclude.

Next year, if we take the boys back, we'll be doing a self guided tour!!!!
