Believe it or not, Mr. Man is our first child to play on a baseball team.
For a couple of years now if you asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up the answer was always, "A baseball player."
Inevitably whoever he was talking to would always ask him, "Do you play on a team?"
"No."
Well, now he can say, "Yes!"
At least for the next 7 weeks.
Last week was his first game. He'll have two games a week for a while.
Oi!
(BTW he's playing Coach Pitch, I had no idea such a thing existed and it's such a good idea. His coach is our neighbor down the street and his assistant coaches are his dad and another dad in the neighborhood. PERFECT!)
So, here he is at his first game.
Warming up.
Playing third base and receiving a little coaching.
The dugout....the happen'n place to be during the game....where the real action happens.
Ball convention on the field -- Happens at least 30 times a game.
Just as bad as soccer if you ask me.
Coach awards a MVP ball to a player each game. There's 12 games and 12 boys so each will get one.
I think the MVP ball and the treat is what the boys look forward to the most each game.
Good game boys!
Check out the jacket and gloves. And you can see from the pictures the weather went from cold and sunny to cold, windy and cloudy then back to cold and sunny by the end of the game.
We've also had cold and rainy for one game and then there was another cold and windy game.
Here's hoping we get some nice 70ish weather for at least one game.
One other thing, Mr.Man has quite the cheering section, at least 6 members strong, but one of us has the voice of 3. When he's on base the phrase, "Run home S--, we miss you!" can be heard echoing across the field.
